RI C-AIM’s Diversity Action Committee

One of RI C-AIM’s central goals is to recruit, engage, and retain a diverse and productive community of researchers in Rhode Island. As such, the Diversity Action Committee (DAC) has been established to advise and support efforts of the leadership team, and also plan and implement activities that attract applicants from underrepresented groups at all levels of participation in RI C-AIM research.

Meet the DAC

Recruit

RI C-AIM is increasing visibility of research from diverse groups by developing partnerships between institutions and equity leaders, strengthening the career development pipeline for undergraduate & graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, & new faculty.

Engage

DAC is supporting RI C-AIM's efforts to fund and organize research and professional development at every academic level, ensuring programs such as the Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship offer meaningful career experiences for students from underrepresented groups.

Retain

Through training and mentorship opportunities, DAC is helping RI C-AIM develop an inclusive research community with a strong sense of belonging for students and faculty alike, outcomes from which will spur future professional collaborations and enrich scientific research.
