Students to present summer research Aug. 2 at URI

College and university students from across Rhode Island will showcase their summer research findings Friday, Aug. 2, at the University of Rhode Island’s Kingston campus.

The Sixth Annual Rhode Island Summer Undergraduate Research Fellows (SURF) Conference is co-sponsored by Rhode Island IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence (RI-INBRE) and the Rhode Island NSF Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (RI NSF EPSCoR).

The premier event provides undergraduates a unique opportunity to present their summer research findings to a group of their peers as well as demonstrate how federal funds are utilized in a collaborative effort to support research and student training in scientific areas critical to the state’s future.

The conference will display more than 100 posters presented by students in the biomedical, behavioral, and life sciences.  More than 300 faculty, students, and administrators will be in attendance from the University of Rhode Island, Brown University, Providence College, Rhode Island College, Roger Williams University, Salve Regina University, Bryant University, Rhode Island School of Design, and the Community College of Rhode Island.
