SURF provides undergraduates interested an intensive, hands-on research experience investigating questions that address impacts of climate variability on coastal ecosystems.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2018 highlights<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Up to thirty-five (35) fellowships will be awarded to qualified undergraduates (rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors)<\/li>\n<li>Fellows will receive a $4,500 stipend for the 10-week program plus $500 for research supplies<\/li>\n<li>The SURF program will also include a variety of field trips, seminars, workshops, and networking events<\/li>\n<li>The program will conclude on Friday, July 27th with the <strong>annual SURF Conference<\/strong>, where fellows will present their work to the larger Rhode Island scientific community. <strong>To view past conference details<\/strong>, click <a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/rinsfepscor\/surf\/\">here!<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Click the following link to view the <a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/848\/SURF2018_C-AIM_projects_all.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>2018 project list<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">The orientation for accepted SURF students will be held on Monday, May 21 at Roger Williams University from 8:30-11 a.m. More information about the event will be forthcoming.<\/span><\/h5>\n<p>For more information about the SURF program, check out the <a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/rinsfepscor\/surf\/\">SURF website<\/a>.
