We are an industry partner with the Governor&#8217;s Workforce Board of Rhode Island for the information technology and bioscience industries. A 501(c)3 non-profit organization, we derive our funding from membership, fundraising and grant awards.<\/p>\n<p>The Tech Collective\u2019s mission is to inspire, engage, educate and employ a burgeoning technological and Knowledge Economy in Rhode Island through:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Uniting industry, government and education<\/li>\n<li>Raising technology awareness and participation<\/li>\n<li>Cultivating existing and emerging information technology and bioscience sectors<\/li>\n<li>Growing the economy through a high-skill, high-wage workforce pipeline with ample employment opportunities<\/li>\n<li>Developing people personally and professionally<\/li>\n<li>Promoting strong, proactive, collaborative and leadership-driven technology industries<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>What we do<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Increase STEM experiential learning experiences for middle and high school youth statewide<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with RI NSF EPSCoR partners to offer STEM related workshops at Tech Collective events\u00a0such as\u00a0GRRL Tech and STEM in the Middle<\/li>\n<li>Provide follow up activities\/resources for teachers and students to\u00a0go beyond a one-day event and continue cultivating interest in STEM fields<\/li>\n<li>Partner with RI NSF EPSCoR to\u00a0make resources available for busing, classroom equipment, professional development opportunities, and provide outreach to middle and high schools that are not part of Tech Collective&#8217;s network<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with other organizations on STEM related programming\u00a0outside the academic year, including\u00a0summer camps<\/li>\n<li>Offer networking opportunities with industry professionals who participate in our programs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>What we offer<\/h3>\n<p>Tech Collective has strong connections to companies, individuals, governmental entities, post-secondary schools and other organizations that are part of and\/or provide support to and the information technology and bio-science industries.\u00a0 These connections are vital to the success of our workforce development initiatives that serve the state\u2019s middle and high school youth through classroom presentations, job shadows, career fairs and industry tours.<\/p>\n<h3>Contact<\/h3>\n<p>JoAnn Johnson,\u00a0Manager of Youth and Education Programs<\/p>\n<p>401.521.7805 x103 | <a href=\"mailto:jjohnson@tech-collective.org\u00a0\">email<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Who we are Tech Collective is the technology industry association of Rhode Island.
