Heather Wolfenden and Savannah Barkley, co-owners of Shop Bloom PVD, launched their journey with a mobile pop-up platform that transformed vacant Providence storefronts into vibrant showcases for local artisans, florists, and vintage vendors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Building on this success, they opened a permanent brick-and-mortar location at 243 Wickenden Street in the heart of the city\u2019s creative community. They call it The Bloom Collective and it supports over 60 small businesses, artists, makers, and educators through retail residencies and workshops. This has created five new jobs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As they transitioned to a physical space, Heather and Savannah partnered with the RISBDC for guidance on planning a ribbon cutting. The event was a success, drawing Providence Mayor Brett Smiley, Providence\u2019s Office of Economic Development, Commerce RI, SBA officials, and representatives from the Governor\u2019s office. Conversations sparked during the event opened doors for future collaboration and deeper community connections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
