{"id":4291,"date":"2023-12-06T14:26:47","date_gmt":"2023-12-06T19:26:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/riskmanagement\/?page_id=4291"},"modified":"2023-12-06T14:34:00","modified_gmt":"2023-12-06T19:34:00","slug":"inflatables-bounce-house-guidance-for-risk-mitigation","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/riskmanagement\/inflatables-bounce-house-guidance-for-risk-mitigation\/","title":{"rendered":"Inflatables &amp; Bounce House Guidance for Risk Mitigation"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>There should be a very low likelihood that participants can collide with each other.<\/li><li>Preparing to participate in the inflatable should be quick and easy.&nbsp; It should not take a lot of time to put on protective gear or strap into harnesses.<\/li><li>There should be no loose buckles or exposed metal pieces that can come into contact with participants.<\/li><li>The goal of participating should not be to engage in competitive physical contact with other participants.<\/li><li>The sponsoring department or student organization should be on hand to monitor usage at all times.<\/li><li>The vendor should be a member of SIOTO (Safe Inflatable Operators Training Organization),<\/li><li>There must be a Contract in place with the vendor, which includes the following: Liability insurance requirements (GL, Auto, workers comp) and URI named Additional Insured.  URI is fully indemnified in the agreement. A COI should be on file with department or student organization that hired the company.<\/li><li>The vendor should be responsible for setting up, controlling, and removing the bounce house during the event.<\/li><li>All Participants should sign a liability waiver.&nbsp;&nbsp;(If the event involves minors a Parental Permission waiver is required)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING: There should be a very low likelihood that participants can collide with each other.
