Rhode Island\u2019s Department of Environmental Management compiled a series of infographics, diagrams and similar sources about stormwater. This site has background information about runoff, stormwater and storm drains in Rhode Island. The RIDEM outlines steps for protecting drainage ways and water sources after a storm. There are also guides for constructing rain gardens and fresh water buffers.

Save the Bay’s Bay-Friendly Tips<\/h2>

Save the Bay works to protect Narragansett Bay and its watershed. On this site, Save the Bay provides ideas to make a homeowner\u2019s yards more water efficient and sustainable. There are guidelines to constructing rain gardens, native plants and growing a healthy lawn without fertilizers. Save the Bay also provides links to similar resources.

Rain Gardens: A Design Guide for Connecticut and New England Homeowners<\/h2>

The University of Connecticut’s NEMO Program (CT NEMO) has developed a site that provides information about rain gardens as well as useful tips for designing, installing, and maintaining rain gardens on a homeowner\u2019s own property.\u00a0Instructional steps, videos, and diagrams for building rain gardens can be found on the CT NEMO Program site as well as an app which can be downloaded to a homeowner\u2019s mobile device.
