Note that students&nbsp;<strong>who started prior to Fall 2024<\/strong>&nbsp;must complete at least one course designated as \u201ctheory\u201d and at least one designated as \u201cmethods.\u201d Majors may specialize by choosing all or many of their electives from within one of our tracks. Course offerings taught each academic year vary and, as a result, students might take electives from multiple tracks to complete their major. Practice (<em>Theory)<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>APG 414 <\/strong>Culture and Cognition (<em>Methods)<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The following courses count as electives and may be used with any Track:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>APG 470<\/strong>&nbsp;Directed Research in Anthropology (may be repeated for a total of 6 credits)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>APG 477<\/strong> Internship<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p>It is strongly recommended that anthropology majors take at least one course in inferential statistics (e.g., <strong>STA 308 or 409<\/strong>), complete a foreign language through the intermediate level, and gain computer proficiency.
