Her research focuses on environmental communication, and specifically how identities inform and shape individuals\u2019 responses to environmental information. She also studies how the sources and framing of information influences trust in science and environmental policy preferences on climate change, conservation, and other environmental issues. Her research has been published in peer-reviewed journals including&nbsp;<em>Science Communication, Environmental Politics<\/em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>Political Psychology,<\/em>&nbsp;and she has published numerous reports for policymakers and policy communicators. Dr. Diamond is also a committed educator, teaching courses on environmental communication and public relations for graduate and undergraduate students at URI. Through STEEP\u2019s Community Engagement Core, she will design and lead initiatives to engage and educate communities about the impacts of PFAS and test various messaging tactics to communicate information about PFAS risks more effectively, particularly among tribal groups in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
