Her research is focused on the impacts of the exposome on the initiation and progression of metabolic diseases in childhood and adulthood. Her longitudinal cohort studies leverage novel \u2018omics\u2019-based approaches (e.g., exposomics, metabolomics, genomics) to advance the understanding of disease mechanisms, gene\u2013environment interactions, and the identification of biomarkers for the early detection of environmental disease in multiethnic populations. Prior to joining Mount Sinai in 2019, Dr. Valvi was a research scientist in ISGlobal\u2013Barcelona, Spain, and the Harvard T.H.
