To address these concerns, a comprehensive birth cohort study was conducted in the Faroe Islands with support from the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS). Leveraging the Faroese population&#8217;s homogeneity and diverse exposure range, the study followed nearly 3,000 PFAS-exposed children from birth, conducting clinical examinations including specialized assessments.<\/p>\n<p>Simultaneously, efforts were made to enhance PFAS analytical methods using more sensitive systems. Data from clinical examinations, blood tests, and PFAS analyses were meticulously documented in a comprehensive database. Advanced statistical analyses aim to elucidate associations between PFAS exposure and vaccine antibodies, as well as metabolic biomarkers.<\/p>\n<p>This multifaceted approach underscores STEEP&#8217;s dedication to advancing knowledge and addressing public health challenges posed by PFAS contamination.
