From glow-in-the-dark mini golf to movie night, students now have an outlet for after-hours entertainment on campus<\/p>\n\n\n

Kingston, R.I. \u2013 September 16, 2026 \u2013 University of Rhode Island students looking for late-night food and fun on campus now have a new spot to find both.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Starting next Thursday, Sept. 24, the Office of Student Involvement is teaming with Housing & Residential and Life and Dining Services to launch \u201cRams After Dark\u201d \u2013 or RAD \u2013 free late-night programming in the Rams Den at the Memorial Union featuring food, games, and other activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RAD will be held every other Thursday during the fall semester from 9 to 11 p.m., which coincides with the Rams Den\u2019s special late-night menu. While admission to the event is free, food can be purchased using standard Rams Den payment methods (meal plan, Dining Dollars, Ram Account, cash, or credit).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next Thursday\u2019s pilot features psychics and tarot card readers in addition to a special booth where students can have their photo taken and printed on magnets. RAD continues in October with nine-hold blacklight mini golf and late-night trivia followed by a special Stuff-A-Ram edition in November in addition to a movie night with the featured presentation playing on the new 4K television installed in the Rams Den over the summer. The late-night menu options at the Rams Den are a continuation of last year\u2019s weekly programming that ran from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Michael Nolfe, coordinator of major events for Student Involvement, said while there have been efforts to initiate late-night programming in the Rams Den in the past, RAD is truly the first of its kind \u2013 consistent programming that students can expect to see on a bi-weekly basis during the fall and beyond, not just a one-off event. The launch of RAD, Nolfe said, is the response to a \u201cconsistent\u201d call from students to bring more late-night programming to the Memorial Union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RAD will continue through the fall and into the spring semester with a plan to follow in the footsteps of other campus traditions that started out small and have since grown into annual, recurring events, including RhodyFest, Beats & Eats, and Unwind Your Mind Week.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
