This summer, SSAS staff made their mark at the 2024 Higher Education Case Management Association (HECMA)<\/a> Conference in St. Louis, MO. With the iconic Gateway Arch as a stunning backdrop, the conference centered around empowering students and sustaining staff in higher education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are proud to share that Lukas Chaves<\/a> and Barbara Sweeney<\/a> were chosen to present on the closing day, showcasing their insightful session, “Making Spaces: The Intersectionality of LGBTQIA+ Identity, Disability, and Basic Needs.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A special highlight of the conference was URI\u2019s own Jacqui Springer<\/a> receiving the prestigious HECMA Leadership Award<\/a>! This award honors individuals whose professional accomplishments have significantly impacted the field of case management in higher education. Dr. Springer’s dedication, visionary contributions, and commitment to developing others have truly earned her this recognition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
