Executive Committee

The Executive Committee is made up of elected students. It acts as a directing force for the Senate assisting the President of the Student Body in the administration of student government as well as refers and proposes legislation.

Director of Treasury

The Director of Treasury (DOT) manages the Student Activities Tax and proposes all legislation on club grants for recognized student organizations and requests for use of the activities tax.

The Student Organization Committee, known as SOC, deals with all matters relating to student organizations at the University of Rhode Island. SOC reviews all applications for recognition as a University student organization.   Read more

Cultural Affairs

The Cultural Affairs committee is focused on issues relating to campus culture, including maintaining a unified and inclusive campus community, creating & sustaining University traditions, promoting multiculturalism, and ensuring equal opportunity. Meet the team

Campus Affairs

The Campus Affairs committee is focused on campus issues such as safety, student rights, parking, on-campus shuttles, disability services, housing and residential life, dining services, and facilities.

Academic Affairs

The Academic Affairs committee is focused on academic student life. Some issues the committee deals with include educational standards & requirements, library services, course registration & availability, grading, tuition, students rights, the URI conduct system and faculty evaluations.

External Committee

The External Affairs committee is focused topics outside the University including local, state, or national issues, legislation that affects the Student Body. We handles off-campus housing and transportation issues and work with local town and law-enforcement officials, as well as the URI-Narragansett Coalition, to find solutions to problems and make off-campus living a positive and safe experience.
