{"id":11261,"date":"2018-11-19T09:17:24","date_gmt":"2018-11-19T14:17:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/studentsenate\/?p=11261"},"modified":"2018-11-19T09:17:24","modified_gmt":"2018-11-19T14:17:24","slug":"finance-10-16-18","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/studentsenate\/finance-10-16-18\/","title":{"rendered":"Finance 10-16-18"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>MEETING START TIME: 6:30 PM <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&nbsp; <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>ATTENDANCE: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Committee:&nbsp; <\/strong>Cimbal, Feeney, Lachance, Taylor<\/p>\n<p><strong>Excused Absence:&nbsp; <\/strong>none<\/p>\n<p><strong>Unexcused Absence:&nbsp; <\/strong>Pelisson, Palmer, Vutech<\/p>\n<p><strong>Non-Committee:&nbsp; <\/strong>Howard, Gall<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>COMMITTEE DISCUSSION: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\"><strong>Topic 1: SVO (Student Veteran Organization) <\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">The Student Veteran Organization applied to go to a conference, but they do not have their signature cards filled out completely<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Chair tells them to work on signature cards<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Finance Committee will hold off on fulfilling their request for money to go to this conference, and will work out the numbers at our next meeting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\"><strong>Topic 2: Ballroom Dancing <\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Organization is requesting funds to go to a competition held at Brown University \u25cb They have two newcomers, and nine bronze athletes who would be in attendance.<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">They are requesting $ 465, up from the original $405 dollars.<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">They have been to this competition before, it is not a budget specific event. It was not budgeted last year.<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Chair says that this is something that could easily become a budgeted item, as it happens year-to-year. This may be implemented in the future.<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Since last year, this organization is up from 2 to 12 people who are going to competitions<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Competition is the 28th of October,2018. Some haste is requested in terms of fulfilling the Request.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u25a0 <strong>Approved <\/strong>,&nbsp; <strong>4-0-0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\"><strong>Topic 3: Transition Materials <\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">According to the Finance Chair, he had a terrible experience being in finance when he first started out, thus the TRANSITION materials<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Finance Meetings used to be far longer, he hopes to keep them short &#8211; between thirty and forty-five minutes<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Detailed reports will be written for contingency requests that are greater than or equal to $3,000.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u25a0 If anything else is noteworthy, a detailed report should also be written. If this is a request that is out of the ordinary, a detailed report should be written.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">\u25cb Committee Chair can approve anything &lt; $250. Finance Committee can approve anything &lt; $1,000.
