  1. Student Veterans Organization: <\/strong><\/li>\n
  2. Asking for a contingency grant for the SVA Conference\n
      \n
    1. Conference is located in Orlando Florida, and the Contingency Grant would cover travel and lodging.<\/li>\n
    2. This would be for three people, for four nights, and approximate total would be around $ 2,372 <\/em>, according to SVO Treasurer.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
    3. Treasurer believes that going to Conference would help bring back to campus the internships that are associated with the event.<\/li>\n
    4. SVO was not budgeted any funds for the end of last year. In their fundraising line they have 401 dollars, although Treasurer made a deposit yesterday (October 29th, 2018) for another $ 1000<\/em><\/li>\n
    5. Vutech does not believe that the Finance Committee should take off the $ 1000<\/em> dollars from what SVO is asking for.<\/li>\n
    6. Vutech states that Finance Committee can only contribute up to 50<\/em>% of    <\/em> the trip. Taylor is checking to see if this is true or not.<\/li>\n
    7. Group would still need to contribute funds after the $ 1,186<\/em> that the Finance<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Committee is offering them<\/p>\n

      1. Taylor Moves to vote on the Contingency Grant:<\/li>\n
      2. 7-0-0 <\/em>2. Anime Club: <\/strong><\/li>\n
      3. Planning to go to Anime Boston<\/li>\n
      4. Anime Club applied for a contingency grant this past year to go to this event. This is not their first time going to this event.<\/li>\n
      5. Last year they received funding for 1 hotel room for two nights<\/li>\n
      6. This year they have at least 10 people signed up for this event<\/li>\n
      7. The Anime Club expects more people to sign up as scheduling for classes ends.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

              FINANCE COMMITTEE MINUTES                                               DATE: October 30th, 2018<\/p>\n

        1. Event will occur between April 19th and the 21st of 2019<\/li>\n
        2. Sheraton Hotel states that this year\u2019s rate, for one room and two nights (after tax), would be approximately $ 89<\/em>, however a travel agency website says that the  hotel had sold out. Without a group rate, the sheraton costs $ 684 <\/em><\/li>\n
        3. This was the preferred hotel<\/li>\n
        4. Marriott will cost approximately $615.74<\/li>\n
        5. Student Senate has to pay tax on hotels, even though the Senate is a non-profit organization. Hotels are one of the only things that it must pay tax on.\n
            \n
          1. Anime Club usually ends up booking 2-3 rooms for the weekend.<\/li>\n
          2. The price of one room, covered by the Finance Committee, would be well within the 50% maximum that the Club is able to receive<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
          3. They are willing to contribute amounts out of their fundraising line toward going to this event.<\/li>\n
          4. This club does not have an external account <\/strong><\/li>\n
          5. Motion to change the amount they are asking for to $ 615,<\/em> made by Lachance, seconded by Cymbal<\/li>\n
          6. 5-0-0 <\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n
          7. Taylor moves to vote on grant as a whole<\/li>\n
          8. 5-0-0 <\/em>3. Assignments: <\/strong><\/li>\n
          9. Scar Contract Detail Report. Lachance should have this done soon. This is old.<\/li>\n
          10. Ballroom Dancing is receiving zero dollars from the Finance Committee. They have over $ 3,000<\/em> in their account. Ballroom Dancing also had alumni going, which the Finance Committee should not pay for.<\/li>\n
          11. Taylor is informing the Committee, but he wants to make sure that this never happens again. Committee should be asking how much is in each of the clubs\u2019 accounts.<\/li>\n
          12. Taylor asks that Committee Members each send out Initial emails to the groups that Members are taking care of<\/li>\n
          13. Members will now be assigned with continually checking in with these groups, and Members will have to check the committee drop-off box to see what contingency grants the Committee is getting from these clubs.<\/li>\n
          14. This is the first and major step to taking on a ton of work.<\/li>\n

          16. Members should work at the Finance Desk when they are in the office.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
