Committee Members Present: Cohen, Creese, Kohl, McWeeney, Ndayishmiye, Vu<\/p>\n

Non-Committee Members: Nicole, URI student \u201cliaison\u201d for Disability Challenge<\/p>\n

Meeting Start Time: 5:07PM<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

-contact director of department you were assigned to be a liaison for (i.e. MSSC, disability services, etc.)<\/p>\n

\u00e0schedule a meeting for November<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

accessibility challenge<\/p>\n

\u00e0go about schedule like you normally would but write notes about accessibility challenges<\/p>\n

-disability services said it might be inappropriate for participants to use wheelchair, crutches, etc.<\/p>\n

-Nicole, student at URI in a wheelchair spoke about how she thinks it is appropriate\/a good idea to have wheelchairs, crutches because it gives a better experience than just walking around and simulating<\/p>\n

-writing letter to Kathy Collins, President Dooley, etc., about how the challenge went<\/p>\n

-Nicolette sent out email to other faculty that might be interested<\/p>\n

-go ahead with simulation: next week when faculty\/staff is here we will assign what everyone will be doing<\/p>\n

-date? Possibly the week of Nov 12th<\/sup><\/p>\n

\u00e0next committee meeting: get everything all set and then decide which day of the week to do it<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

November cultural event: Indigenous Peoples\u2019 Day<\/p>\n

\u00e0probably on Nov 27th<\/sup> at 5pm instead of committee<\/p>\n

\u00e0Kohl brought up Christian Gonzalez, history professor who does a lot of Native American \u201csimulations\u201d in class, might be able to help with programming for the event<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

we have 3 kids for Spirit of Giving<\/p>\n

\u00e0most likely get wish list this week, can start collecting donations<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Ace of Cakes<\/p>\n

\u00e0tentative date: Tuesday, March 6<\/p>\n

\u00e0set up = 3, goes until 7 or 8<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

-tomorrow on quad: Slow Foods doing \u201cFall Fest part 2\u201d, having pumpkins on the quad, donations, etc.<\/p>\n
