{"id":3079,"date":"2014-11-04T10:35:54","date_gmt":"2014-11-04T15:35:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/studentsenate\/?p=3079"},"modified":"2014-11-04T10:35:54","modified_gmt":"2014-11-04T15:35:54","slug":"academic-10-29-2014","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/studentsenate\/academic-10-29-2014\/","title":{"rendered":"Academic 10-29-2014"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MEETING START TIME: 5:30 pm<\/p>\n<p>ATTENDANCE: Succi, Oliver, Eagan, Garcia, Zawatski, Cocozza, Curtis<\/p>\n<p>DISCUSSION:<\/p>\n<p>Last Week Academic Complaint<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Student has not follow up with Chairman Zawatski questions about the complaint.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Academic Complaint<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Social Media and Printed material campaign to be start by the DOMR.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Academic Groups<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Groups are being recognized by senate as unfunded.<\/li>\n<li>Some clubs come to senate for funding because their departments knows that Senate will fund them.<\/li>\n<li>Academic affairs will be working with SOARC to work on mediating and address these issues with their different deans.<\/li>\n<li>Some groups had asked their colleges to fund their academic aspect and ask Senate to fund the social aspect.<\/li>\n<li>We need to reevaluate of own bylaws about why we do not fund academic groups.<\/li>\n<li>We still recognized Academic Clubs, but we do not fund them.
