GENERAL DISCUSSION:<\/strong><\/p>\n

FINANCE:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sit<\/strong>: There\u2019s an alcohol free grant tomorrow on the floor and two bills that are already going out and the cigar is requesting a new printer but we want to see if theirs is repairable. And I want tomorrow to go quick but there\u2019s a budget that we\u2019ll treat as a contingency grant.<\/p>\n

ACADEMIC:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Zawatsky<\/strong>: No report<\/p>\n

SOARC:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Weinreich<\/strong>: We need to fix something in a bill. Part 4 section on grants has a missing word that completely changes the wording of the bill. I forgot the word funded<\/em>. So we need to work on that. I thought I put it in, but I overlooked it. I\u2019ll put in a bill to get that fixed. The bill is already in effect and that\u2019s why a bill needs to be put in to get it fixed. We have protection from this being a problem right now.<\/p>\n

Kilduff<\/strong>: Do your best to get it immediately done<\/p>\n

Zawatsky<\/strong>: Is there any official number of times on immediate consideration?<\/p>\n

Kilduff<\/strong>: No<\/p>\n

Weinreich<\/strong>: Re-rec has started and there haven\u2019t been many problems with it yet. Other than that, I\u2019m expecting 100+ emails over the next two weeks and at the presidents meeting I\u2019ll go over that with groups. You have until the 14 or you\u2019re not being recognized. I won\u2019t spend two months working on the re-rec bill. I can\u2019t make my committee meet on the 14 but I\u2019ll do my best to work on it. I also don\u2019t have many people on my committee so we need to work on that.<\/p>\n

Cicero<\/strong>: You should be at 5 total, which is that ok for now?<\/p>\n

Weinreich<\/strong>: That\u2019s alright. Brian, can you have anyone that does both of our committees?<\/p>\n

Sit<\/strong>: I\u2019ll see what I can do<\/p>\n

Cicero<\/strong>: There are some issues and we really need to make sure we fill SOARC and Finance<\/p>\n

CAMPUS:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Rode<\/strong>: I sent out my invitation for the safety and lighting walk and important people are going on it!<\/p>\n

Zawatsky<\/strong>: There\u2019s a forum on campus safety, and then it says URI Student Rep at the end.<\/p>\n

Rode<\/strong>: It\u2019s the firearm thing<\/p>\n

EXTERNAL:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lanoie<\/strong>: There is a bill on the floor for the $7400 for the carnival. Once I get the contracts tomorrow we\u2019ll be all set. I also have some left over money so maybe we can get some candy. I contacted Paul and Sydney and they\u2019re both willing to help me with flyers.<\/p>\n

CULTURAL:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Solomon<\/strong>: Did you get Abby\u2019s email?<\/p>\n

Kilduff<\/strong>: Yes but I don\u2019t understand it.<\/p>\n

Solomon<\/strong>: It\u2019s for Mr. URI<\/p>\n

Kilduff<\/strong>: It\u2019s very odd to me. They want to have practices during the month of October.<\/p>\n

Cicero<\/strong>: I would see if anyone wants to do it first before we vote for anyone to do it.<\/p>\n

Rode<\/strong>: And it\u2019s the same day as Barstool.<\/p>\n

Zawatsky<\/strong>: This is Mr. URI?<\/p>\n

Kilduff<\/strong>: Instead of like a pageant it\u2019s supposed to be funny and the first practice is supposed to be in a week.<\/p>\n

Solomon<\/strong>: It\u2019s on the 23, a Wednesday now. So someone would have to miss a meeting. Safe-zone is in room 318 in the union from 12:30-2:30<\/p>\n

Cicero<\/strong>: If you see Allison can we talk to her about the time of low ropes.<\/p>\n

Solomon<\/strong>: Friday at 3:00 I\u2019m doing stand up sit down for diversity week<\/p>\n

CIO:<\/strong><\/p>\n

St.Jean<\/strong>: No report<\/p>\n

TREASURER:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kempler<\/strong>: I need everyone\u2019s stuff that they need in the newsletter by Friday because that\u2019s when I\u2019m doing it. Get me the information please.<\/p>\n

Zawatsky: My committee is doing a lot of academic complaints for things like the readership program.<\/p>\n

Kempler<\/strong>: Send me how to file an academic complaint. My office hours are from 11-2 on Friday. I\u2019ll be here all day, so if I don\u2019t get it my then you probably won\u2019t be in it.<\/p>\n

Cicero<\/strong>: I actually changed the date of the deadline of the scholarship. I pushed it back to the 6th<\/sup> of November at 5 PM.<\/p>\n

SECRETARY:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Stuart<\/strong>: I\u2019m not going to get the new google drive going for committee minutes until our new senate is in their committees<\/p>\n

VICE PRESIDENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cicero<\/strong>: I\u2019ll give out an office hour to anyone that goes to a diversity week. Also, MCC is in the works of making a Diversity Council to get recognized by senate. They\u2019re in the beginning stages and will be contacting SOARC and Finance.<\/p>\n

Kilduff<\/strong>: They should talk to us.<\/p>\n

Weinreich<\/strong>: There will be no more compacts.<\/p>\n

Cicero<\/strong>: Once they\u2019re on the same page as Naomi we\u2019ll see what happens. Also, I\u2019m getting the scholarship committee going. If you\u2019re interested in being on the committee talk to me. Anyone interested in applying, you can apply for one or the other. It\u2019s up on the new website. Also, the commencement committee members, they\u2019re looking for a junior and a senior. We can bring it up in the meeting again. The only other thing is, did everyone sign a waiver for the second ropes course?<\/p>\n

Solomon<\/strong>: I just wanted to interject\u2026Pitu says stipends are in. Also, do I have to mention that I have someone on my committee that\u2019s on the President\u2019s commission on the status of a Woman<\/em>.<\/p>\n

PRESIDENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kilduff<\/strong>: President Dooley\u2019s Secretary emailed me and they\u2019re having state wide panels to talk about arming campus police and the feasibility of it and also about what happened for gun violence in a whole. They also wanted me to do it but I can\u2019t because I have class. We\u2019re thinking about basing ours off of Brown\u2019s system. We are going to sponsor that and you are welcome to go. The other thing is I\u2019m proposing to change the DOM position; he doesn\u2019t have a vote, he\u2019s an intern, and any other aspect of the job is the DOC\u2019s job. He needs to be at the general meetings but having him go to more meetings than he has to makes it difficult for them to do their jobs. I won\u2019t put it up for a vote until next week.<\/p>\n
