External<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Coalition meeting this Thursday 6:30-8 in the ballroom. TELL PEOPLE ABOUT THIS WE WANT STUDENTS TO COME!<\/li>\n<li>After this, going to focus on recycling program , money from town manager, going to form a committee to discuss best option<\/li>\n<li>Town manager is trying to charge surf club more money than before<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>II. Campus<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Been sick in bed<\/li>\n<li>Tried to establish delegation but almost everyone had legitimate excuses for not being at meeting<\/li>\n<li>Hertz- We should contact students from other schools that have this program.<\/li>\n<li>Zipcar is the other option, but its very restrictive.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>III. DOC<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Newsletter is done, was waiting on NASA but they never answered us<\/li>\n<li>Switched to breakdown of new recognition (RAMS)<\/li>\n<li>SAWA\u2019s adds did not work because they had to wait so they are putting two more in today.<\/li>\n<li>Cigar put in elections adds after elections so we are getting money back from them<\/li>\n<li>Going to put an ad in the Cigar for the coalition meeting<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>IV. Finance<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bill for money to SEC on floor tomorrow (Jim Gaffigan)<\/li>\n<li>Bill to pay for busses to bring kids from campus to the BC\/URI basketball game.<\/li>\n<li>Potential person for computer tech<\/li>\n<li>Finance 101 was informative<\/li>\n<li>Met with guy from WASP, demoed an inventory tracking system (to monitor supplies)<\/li>\n<li>Talked to Bruce, need to see comparable systems<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>V. Treasurer<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Paying the bills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>VI. Cultural<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Holiday fair November 30<sup>th<\/sup> from 7-10 p.m., 8 groups have shown interest<\/li>\n<li>Clothing drive still in process, need to find drop off locations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>VII. SOARC<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Meeting went well but people did not sign in<\/li>\n<li>Re-rec due tomorrow by 6:30, have 30 out of 80something<\/li>\n<li>Definitely enough communication, groups are just dumb<\/li>\n<li>If they don\u2019t get it in they have to wait about 3 weeks until other group\u2019s paperwork is reviewed. They will not be recognized for this time and cannot get money.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>VIII. Vice President<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Senate orientation Wednesday 10\/14 from 5-6:30<\/li>\n<li>Everyone has to go<\/li>\n<li>Ice breaker<\/li>\n<li>How to speak on floor<\/li>\n<li>Breast cancer walk- GO!!! It is October 25<sup>th<\/sup>, $200 goal<\/li>\n<li>Allen\u2019s house= possible party after senate meeting<\/li>\n<li>Senate formal- shooting for Thursday December 10<sup>th<\/sup>, 2<sup>nd<\/sup> to last day of classes, Amalfi again<\/li>\n<li>Reading day is Monday December 14<sup>th<\/sup><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>IX. President<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sorry I was not on campus, had a sinus infection<\/li>\n<li>Meeting was under 30 minutes- apathy or lack of material?<\/li>\n<li>Committees need to create projects to work on, this semester or next semester, easy or complicated<\/li>\n<li>We get paid activities tax, so we need to work for it<\/li>\n<li>Going to say the same thing to the general senate at meeting<\/li>\n<li>When people motion to adjourn, Vidhi can say no.<\/li>\n<li>Allen can give finance 101 presentation or go over Robert\u2019s rules of order<\/li>\n<li>Soon everyone will have full committees so no longer an excuse<\/li>\n<li>Jim Gaffigan tickets on sale, Kim has a list of buildings that need flyers, pick up and distribute<\/li>\n<li>Homecoming next week- PROMOTE!<\/li>\n<li>Hot dog contest- now with buns and 5 minutes<\/li>\n<li>Provost Hayes and VP Alfonzo teaming up for students to do research projects- $40,000<\/li>\n<li>Meeting with President\u2019s leadership team next Tuesday from 4-6 in Green Hall conference room<\/li>\n<li>Project discussion next Wednesday closed meeting<\/li>\n<li>Lobbyist affiliate- temporary committee will report to external<\/li>\n<li>Andrea Hopkins will help us- assistant VP for Public relations<\/li>\n<li>New exec time for next month- Wednesday at 5<\/li>\n<li>Rachael Gaudio Vice Chair for Campus, 9-0-0<\/li>\n<li>Article in ProJo, URI tuition is increasing 9.9% for in-state tuition ($10,460) and 4.5% for out-of-state tuition ($27,000)<\/li>\n<li>What are we discussing with President?<\/li>\n<li>It is to get our ideas on floor and President will do the same, find common ground<\/li>\n<li>Advising system<\/li>\n<li>Open line of communication between URI community and administration<\/li>\n<li>Parking<\/li>\n<li>Projects<\/li>\n<li>Traffic issue<\/li>\n<li>Emergency protocols<\/li>\n<li>Off-campus jurisdiction<\/li>\n<li>Multiculturalism<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Adjournment: 8:16 p.m.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Attendance: Harrington, Boiteau, Holland, Petit, Sinapi, Bedard, Shah, Clarke, Simon Call to Order: 7:09 p.m. &nbsp; I.
