URI Dressage <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>No representative<\/li>\n<li>Requesting loan to pay for instructor and the horses<\/li>\n<li>Note: we do not own horses because the cost of maintenance for an entire year would be very high<\/li>\n<li>Requesting $7,830 now, which will be paid back in full in March<\/li>\n<li>They pay for their instructor and horses monthly<\/li>\n<li>The finance handbook states \u201cYour loan may be called due at anytime with one-week notice with a 2\/3 approval of the Finance Committee if finance policy has been violated or fiscal irresponsibility is shown\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Tabled until next week: 8-0-0<\/p>\n<p><strong>IV. Uhuru Sasa <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Requesting money for their yearly Kwanzaa ball<\/li>\n<li>Cultural, diverse, elegant<\/li>\n<li>Goal: to get together and speak on Kwanzaa. Other organizations will come and represent the candles of Kwanzaa. There will also be entertainment, music and good to appreciate the arts<\/li>\n<li>Goal: to have a culturally diverse and elegant event to educate people of background and values of Kwanzaa and why it\u2019s a \u2018movement\u2019 and to provide a passionate speaker with the intention of motivating others<\/li>\n<li>Event will be in December<\/li>\n<li>Expected attendance: 90 people<\/li>\n<li>Last year\u2019s turnout<\/li>\n<li>8 people attended<\/li>\n<li>Charged admission &#8211; $20\/couple<\/li>\n<li>Solution for this year: free and better advertisement, hopeful senate involvement, and open to a wider range of people on campus<\/li>\n<li>Cost breakdown<\/li>\n<li>Dining services food $1750-2000<\/li>\n<li>DJ $400<\/li>\n<li>Videography\/photography $150<\/li>\n<li>Decorations $350<\/li>\n<li>Entertainment\/speaker $100<\/li>\n<li>Total $2750-3000<\/li>\n<li>What is Kwanzaa? What is purpose of food?<\/li>\n<li>Celebration of unity between African Americans in America<\/li>\n<li>Expected attendance: 90 people<\/li>\n<li>Type of food \u2013 \u201csoul good\u201d \u2013 western BBQ buffet provided by dining services<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>o\u00a0\u00a0 This does not align with what Kwanzaa represents<\/p>\n<p>o\u00a0\u00a0 The food should be ethnic<\/p>\n<p>o\u00a0\u00a0 Dinner must be a crucial part of the event in order to be necessary<\/p>\n<p>Tabled until next week: 8-0-0<\/p>\n<p>Sit: Motion to close minutes.
