{"id":3856,"date":"2015-03-05T10:04:24","date_gmt":"2015-03-05T15:04:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/studentsenate\/?p=3856"},"modified":"2015-03-05T10:04:24","modified_gmt":"2015-03-05T15:04:24","slug":"executive-3-3-2015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/studentsenate\/executive-3-3-2015\/","title":{"rendered":"Executive 3-3-2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Attendance: Anderson, Cicero, Hetland, Kidd, Kilduff, Maynard, Montecalvo, Patterson, Rode, Solomon, Yip<\/p>\n<p>5:08 PM<\/p>\n<p>President:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Student Handbook:\n<ul>\n<li>Want to facilitate ideas to change for next year<\/li>\n<li>A game plan will be devised and recommendations will be made by next Tuesday<\/li>\n<li>See the committee with any recommendations<\/li>\n<li>Some changes that people want to see: same gender bathrooms<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>JCAP: Joint Committee on Academic Planning\n<ul>\n<li>The committee ends in 2015<\/li>\n<li>In January there was a faculty summit where they had discussion groups about what they want to see as the academic plan: class schedules, manner of teaching, goals, etc.<\/li>\n<li>To create an infrastructure for academic planning<\/li>\n<li>In the middle of rewriting the infrastructure<\/li>\n<li>Major changes: want to put a big incentive on experiential learning; want to make this worth more credits<\/li>\n<li>There will be a student summit in April where faculty will moderate and generate ideas from students<\/li>\n<li>Senate participation would be great!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Student Advisory Council\n<ul>\n<li>Work with Provost Dehayes<\/li>\n<li>Need more members because participation has decreased<\/li>\n<li>The meeting is this Thursday at 5<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>VP:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Commencement applications have been submitted; we have 17\n<ul>\n<li>Want someone chosen by Annual Meeting<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Scheduled Welcome Booth Days<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>SOARC:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Will possibly be freezing 25 budgets on Monday<\/li>\n<li>President\u2019s Meeting are mandatory and there are many groups that don\u2019t go\n<ul>\n<li>These are the groups that end up making the most mistakes<\/li>\n<li>Will unfreeze the budgets if groups come and appeal<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Finance:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Budget is all set and the bill will get presented Wednesday<\/li>\n<li>Overall great response;
