{"id":3868,"date":"2015-03-11T14:49:07","date_gmt":"2015-03-11T18:49:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/studentsenate\/?p=3868"},"modified":"2015-03-11T14:49:07","modified_gmt":"2015-03-11T18:49:07","slug":"executive-3-10-2015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/studentsenate\/executive-3-10-2015\/","title":{"rendered":"Executive 3-10-2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Attendance: Anderson, Bennett, Boutmy, Cicero, Hetland, Kilduff, Maynard, , Montecalvo, Patterson, Rode, Solomon, Tang, Yip, Zawatsky<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>5:08<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>President:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Student Handbook Committee didn\u2019t get to meet, so will hopefully be meeting this week or over Spring Break<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>VP:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Thursday at 7 is the new Senate orientation<\/li>\n<li>Senior Commencement met today\n<ul>\n<li>Narrowed candidates down to 6<\/li>\n<li>3 will be chosen on Tuesday and they will read their speech for Senate on Wednesday<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Mentor\/Mentee\u2019s being worked on<\/li>\n<li>Welcome Booth will be 3 Saturdays from Spring Break<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Campus:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Campus Planning has contacted her regarding working together<\/li>\n<li>Working on RhodyRama<\/li>\n<li>Want to do a campus cleanup if weather mermits<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>SOARC:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Will be freezing the budgets of 23 groups on the Monday after Spring Break\n<ul>\n<li>Groups will be told this Thursday and can meet with her that Monday<\/li>\n<li>These are the same groups that keep missing meetings and the ones that make the most mistakes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Finance:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Budgeting is being worked on\n<ul>\n<li>If IFC\/Panhel budgets go, then MUSIC stipends will go<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Need to work on Senate positions\/stipends<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Treasurer:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; No report<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>External<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>No report<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Academic:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Dealing with make up days\/snow days regarding faculty<\/li>\n<li>Might be having some issues with the Academic Standards and Calendar Committee\n<ul>\n<li>Want to implement many changes such as withdrawal\/cancellation procedures<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Some models emerging for Academic Model\n<ul>\n<li>Major obstacle is faculty agreement on advisement<\/li>\n<li>Need to decide if we are behind and if so we need to help promote it<\/li>\n<li>Will not be addressed until next semester<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Working on future Reading Days<\/li>\n<li>Still waiting to hear back from CELs regarding financing<\/li>\n<li>Has lost contact with Health and Services because of lack of contact from our liaison<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>CIO:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Writing a bill with Zawatsky and Lauren regarding liaisons.\n<ul>\n<li>Has looked at other schools to see how committees are organized\n<ul>\n<li>Every school has a marketing committee<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Bill will create a pseudo-marketing committee\n<ul>\n<li>Will make it so the first thing a DOM does is work on the strategic marketing plan and follow the plan<\/li>\n<li>DOM will be a non-voting member of the committee<\/li>\n<li>Will work with a sister committee: Fall Senate Recruitment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Discussion on bill&#8230;modifications needed\n<ul>\n<li>Need to work on how to deal with unacceptable appointees<\/li>\n<li>Idea to make DOM a marketing position<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Cultural:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Working on Rhody Paws<\/li>\n<li>Spoke with Melvin last week who brought up IFC\/Panhel<\/li>\n<li>Working with DIVE<\/li>\n<li>Oozeball is having its 25<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary so want to do something w\/them and co-sponsor<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Attendance: Anderson, Bennett, Boutmy, Cicero, Hetland, Kilduff, Maynard, , Montecalvo, Patterson, Rode, Solomon, Tang, Yip, Zawatsky &nbsp;
