{"id":4264,"date":"2015-10-07T12:36:32","date_gmt":"2015-10-07T16:36:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/studentsenate\/?p=4264"},"modified":"2015-10-07T12:36:32","modified_gmt":"2015-10-07T16:36:32","slug":"finance-10-2-2015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/studentsenate\/finance-10-2-2015\/","title":{"rendered":"Finance 10-2-2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>MEETING START TIME: 3:04<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>ATTENDANCE: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Committee: <\/strong>Chairman Anderson, Vice-Chair Buck, Senator Akinjinsola, Senator Jones, Senator Skov, Senator McIsaac<\/p>\n<p><strong>Absent: <\/strong>N\/A<\/p>\n<p><strong>Non-Committee<\/strong>: Senator Garcia, Senator Sarpong<\/p>\n<p><strong>COMMITTEE DISCUSSION:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\"><strong>PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Capital Improvement:\n<ul>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Requesting new cameras because of new member turn out and they do not have enough cameras for the need of the club.<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">They only have 2 cameras now and splitting them among their group of around 15 to 25<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">They will be used for different events on campus and help with different clubs and organizations<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">They advertise to other clubs\/organizations such as SAWA and relay for life and benefit them for their photography skills<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Total for 2 cameras, 2 SD cards, 4 cases (2 for the two purchased last year and 2 for these)<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">TOTAL: $1,514.00<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>VOTE: \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 6-0-2<\/p>\n<ul>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Contingency Grant:\n<ul>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Need money for trips that the club takes for events and activities that the organization does off campus<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Providence and Boston trips<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Nov 7<sup>th<\/sup> Dec 5<sup>th<\/sup><\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Asking for money for charter bus (school bus) to transport them to and from each event<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">The idea of going on these trips is good but the purpose of the trips is not beneficial towards the whole student body<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">The total is for two trips, recommended taking RIPTA for Providence trip but it is not guaranteed for clubs transportation<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">The trips are important for the group because they going to these cities is a great way to get experience<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Also recommended using SOLC at Alton Jones for the fall scenery and team building<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Decided to just doing the Boston trip because it is more beneficial<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Recommended coming back later when there is a set number of people in the group (membership) that go to these trips.
