{"id":6919,"date":"2017-09-18T09:43:41","date_gmt":"2017-09-18T13:43:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/studentsenate\/?p=6919"},"modified":"2017-09-18T09:43:41","modified_gmt":"2017-09-18T13:43:41","slug":"academic-4-19-17","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/studentsenate\/academic-4-19-17\/","title":{"rendered":"Academic 4-19-17"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>MEETING START TIME:<\/strong> 5:30pm<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>ATTENDANCE:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Committee:<\/strong> Chairman Temple, Vice-Chair Morabito, Senator Darche, Senator Murray, Senator Needle, Senator Nelson, Senator Quinn, Senator Sardinha<\/p>\n<p><strong>Absent:<\/strong> Senator Benedict<\/p>\n<p><strong>Non-Committee:<\/strong> CIO Taylor<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>DISCUSSION: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>NEASC Standard 4 Review<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Committee members were assigned pages of the NEASC Standard 4 document and members reviewed the information to make sure it was all accurate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>CIO Taylor presentation<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">What is institutional knowledge and how it is under the CIO\u2019s domain\n<ul>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">The library has institutional knowledge located on the second floor in special collections area<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">There is information on academic committee as well as the rest of senate which CIO Taylor offers himself to be a resource for access to that institutional knowledge<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Records go back to 1962 but majority of the files are between 1982-2005<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Documents given to the library given by past chairpeople and there may be some from past academic chairs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Updates and Miscellaneous information<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Most of faculty senate liaisons are appointed but there are still a few left\n<ul>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Information on subtopic<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">OER\n<ul>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">What is OER &#8211; Open Educational Resources<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Chairman Temple is meeting at the department chair forum to talk about it<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">What have we done with OER?
