Alquirtas, Cohen, Kohl, McWeeney<\/p>\n<p><u>Committee Members Absent:<\/u> Ndayishimiye, Vu<\/p>\n<p><u>Non-Committee Members:<\/u> N\/A<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Meeting Start Time: 5:00PM<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>-went over how disability challenge is going with present committee members:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>-Alquirtas:<\/p>\n<p>\u00e0first day of committee, has not been debriefed on the challenge<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>-Cohen (blind):<\/p>\n<p>\u00e0checked out:<\/p>\n<p>Lippitt:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>has braille on all of the room number plaques<\/li>\n<li>has large classrooms<\/li>\n<li>elevators to all floors<\/li>\n<li>*separate handicap entrance to the left of the stone stairs that would be wheelchair accessible<\/li>\n<li>*none of the rooms have lecture hall-style seating where if you were handicapped you would have to sit alone<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Alumni Center:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>has braille on all of the room number plaques<\/li>\n<li>*none of the rooms have lecture hall-style seating where if you were handicapped you would have to sit alone<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>-McWeeney (blind):<\/p>\n<p>\u00e0*is completing his challenge tomorrow, 12\/5 as he has more classes with diverse buildings<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>-Creese (blind):<\/p>\n<p>\u00e0checked out:<\/p>\n<p>Beaupre Chemistry Building:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>has braille on all of the room number plaques<\/li>\n<li>although there are bigger lecture rooms, there is not \u201cstadium seating\u201d i.e. all seats are easily accessible<\/li>\n<li>one of the more handicap accessible buildings on campus as it was just opened Fall 2016<\/li>\n<li>main entrance doors on both sides of the building (one facing library and one facing Flagg Rd)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>CBLS:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>has braille on all of the room number plaques<\/li>\n<li>unique\/different set up of building but nothing that\u2019s necessarily \u201cinaccessible\u201d<\/li>\n<li>can enter the large lecture hall but only through an elevator down to the ground floor into the bottom of the \u201cstadium seating\u201d lecture hall<\/li>\n<li>*although there are spots wheelchair accessibility, some seats right next to the handicapped seats are covered with a plastic bag because they are \u201cbroken\u201d, haven\u2019t been fixed all semester from what I can tell<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Ballentine<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>has braille on all of the room number plaques<\/li>\n<li>relatively accessible overall, again one of the newer buildings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>-*all other committee members = absent<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>-still donate to spirit of giving!!!!
