He is very reassuring.<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">He is going to try coming to our Wednesday meeting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Our decision:\n<ul>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Take them out of our budget.<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Make a contingency line labelled \u201cWorkshops and Retreats\u201d that any recognized organization can access.<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Make them an unfunded organization.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\"><strong>Vice President<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">We have some commencement applications in!<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Formal\n<ul>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Numbers in by tomorrow.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">I am interested in progression meetings next week\n<ul>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">I want to focus on Senators since I see you all here every week.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Retreat, not doing a full retreat<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\"><strong>Treasurer<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Not much happening.<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">I signed some stuff for Ace of Cakes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\"><strong>DOC<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Newsletter is out<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">The bulletin board is going into full effect.\n<ul>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">First \u201cSenators of the Month\u201d are going to be members who are not participating in elections.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">The extra desk calendar will be used on the other bulletin board.<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Declarations close on Friday.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\"><strong>CIO<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Give me your bills.<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">I have a Bylaws Bill to show you.<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">The way I take minutes\n<ul>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Quotations<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Capturing the Message<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Recording the meeting\/Time Stamps<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">They way I organize agendas, or, \u201cSOARC, you can have your bills back.\u201d\n<ul>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">More unsuccessful than successful experiment<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">I was looking to make the agendas more neat but it seems I made more inconveniences.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Voter registration, let\u2019s do it!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\"><strong>Academic<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">No report.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\"><strong>Campus<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">I introduced myself to some of the directors.<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">I talked with Buck about having Campus Committee liaisons.<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Parking Public Forum\n<ul>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Bertel: What can External do?<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Watka: Push to meet with them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">I am meeting up with Public Safety to hear what they thought about the riots.<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Thank you for having me.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\"><strong>Cultural<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Calendar Faculty Committee brought up the Indigenous People\u2019s Day bill.\n<ul>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">They said they cannot do anything right now.<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">They presented three options:\n<ul>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Creating a dual calendar, separating a faculty and students calendar and an offices calendar.<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Creating another day before Thanksgiving.<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Disassociating from the State altogether (not happening.)<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Not doing anything, just celebrating it the way we choose.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">The next meeting of the Standards and Calendar committee is February 16<sup>th<\/sup>. Please go.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Ace of Cakes\n<ul>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Almost one month away<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">We are getting more participants<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Talking about it at President\u2019s Meeting, hopefully that will bring in participants.<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">We finalized the judges\n<ul>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Director of the MU, Director of the Women\u2019s Center, Associate VP<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Rhody-Thon\n<ul>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Talk with you Committees about it. It is a fundraising effort for Hasbro\u2019s Children Hospital.<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">There will be a dance at the end.<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Lots of (good) food will be there.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Advertising for Future Events\n<ul>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">I emailed people to share that we can advertise for them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">February Program\n<ul>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">This is our monthly diversity program, but we do not have time for one this month.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\"><strong>External<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">The Narragansett Meeting is happening tomorrow at 4:30 PM.\n<ul>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">We are going to talk about ways to have, as students, a better relationship with the town.<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">I am interested in hearing what you think the Narragansett Liaison position should do. It would serve as \u201ca backward complaint system.\u201d<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">They would regularly work with members of the town council to prevent too much bad feelings.<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">I am also interested in committees and liaisons for other reasons.<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">ZT: Let\u2019s come back to how many reports they are taking in a semester or two.<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Bertel: I would like it to be multiple people participating.<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">King: Could not these duties be added to the External Committee\u2019s bylaws? The framework is there to assign these tasks to members of the committee.<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Bertel: I thought of that. But External is very broad so we already get a lot coming at us. This would not be a Senate committee. The town can create ad hoc committees to help us.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\"><strong>Finance<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Budgeting\n<ul>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">They are due this Friday.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">I received 67 on time out of \u201ca lot.\u201d<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">I am looking at Senate Stipend changes. The Finance Committee will be voting on these if brought to them and ultimately the full Senate.\n<ul>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">I am interested in lowering Finance and President and raising SOARC Chair.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\"><strong>SOARC<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">We started Stipend Review today.\n<ul>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">We will be doing that every Monday and Tuesday for the next month.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">President\u2019s Meeting is today.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\"><strong>New Business<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Howard \u2013 Desk\n<ul>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Explains idea.<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Taylor: We can move old stuff out of Filing Cabinets into the library.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Bylaws Committee notices that committees are creating many liaison positions. We are paying closer attention to that part of the Bylaws relating to Liaisons.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\"><strong>Extra<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Taylor: What records would we be comfortable moving into the library?<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">King: An IT MU employee is interested in helping us with IT.<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">Morabito: Kareem has Vending Machine plans.<\/li>\n<li class=\"minutes_text\">King: I need a Vice Chair.
