Visit The Rhode to Becoming a Ram <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/newram\/checklists\/talent-development-checklist\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">New TD Scholar Checklist<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> for details related to getting started with us.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Spring Preparatory Program (PREP) \/Enrollment with Talent Development&nbsp;<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">All accepted students are <\/span><b>required <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">to:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">attend PREP on <\/span><b>March 14, 2026<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em style=\"font-family: Charter, Georgia, serif;font-size: 20px;text-align: center\"><strong>Information related to PREP 2026 will be sent via email to applicants who have been accepted to URI through TD<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">complete the Intent to Enroll Form and TD Grant Eligibility Contract by<\/span><b> May 2026.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em style=\"font-family: Charter, Georgia, serif;font-size: 20px;text-align: center\"><strong>These documents will be made available at PREP 2026<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">All accepted students are highly encouraged to attend one of the URI Welcome Days<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong><em>Dates and further details for URI Welcome Days are forthcoming<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>URI New Student Orientation<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">All accepted incoming TD Scholars* <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>ARE REQUIRED <\/b>to register <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">and attend a session of New Student Orientation (NSO) before the TD Summer Success Program starts. Registration instructions for the New Student Orientation can be found <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/newstudent\/orientation\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">here<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">TD pays for the NSO fee for accepted TD Scholars.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">* Transfer Scholars must register for and attend Transfer Student Orientation. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Details can be found <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/transfer\/advising-information\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">here.<\/span><\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">TD pays for the NSO fee for accepted TD Transfer Scholars.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Connecting with TD Advisors&nbsp;<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">All accepted TD Scholars are assigned a TD Advisor who supports their transition and success at URI. Scholars <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>ARE REQUIRED<\/strong> to meet with their TD Advisor for one group advising session before the TD Summer Success Program starts.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Dates and details regarding Group Advising are forthcoming&nbsp;<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<h2><b>TD Summer Success Program (TDSSP)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">All accepted TD Scholars&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>ARE REQUIRED <\/strong>to participate in the Talent Development Summer Success Program (TDSSP) on URI&#8217;s Kingston Campus.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Program dates, policies, and details are forthcoming<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<h2><b>Academic Year<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">During the academic year, TD Scholars are supported through intensive academic advising, which connects Scholars with on and off-campus resources, builds community, instills confidence, and promotes Scholar success. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">During the academic year, Scholars must:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">be full-time (e.g., a minimum of 12 credits)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">reside on the Kingston campus until the end of their first year&#8211;this requirement can be subject to certain exceptions<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">meet with their assigned TD Advisor&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">remain in good academic standing to be eligible for the need-based Hardge\/Forleo Grant<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Accepted to URI through Talent Development?
