Playwright Kate Hamill imbues hilarious new life into this classic love story with a decidedly progressive take on the trials and travails of Elizabeth Bennet, Mr. Darcy, and of course the delightful Bennet clan! This isn’t your grandmother’s Austen! Bold, surprising, boisterous, and timely, this P&P for a new era explores the absurdities and thrills of finding your perfect (or imperfect) match in life.

Two by Two…

An Evening of two One-Acts featuring Free Range Chickens by Ann Wuehler and The Dumb Waiter by Harold Pinter.
Download Program (PDF)
December 4-6, at 7:30pm
December 7, at 2pm
J- Studio, URI Fine Arts Center

Free Range Chickens by Anne Wuehler takes place at a bleak bus stop in seedy Las Vegas. Shakespeare gives us a clue: “The course of true love never did run smooth.” In this beloved tale of mischief and merriment, four stories are cleverly woven together: the marriage of the Athenian duke to the Amazon queen; a spat between the fairy king and queen; the follies of four lovers; and the hilarious antics of amateur actors staging a play. When the exhilarating night in the forest finally resolves to (almost) everyone’s satisfaction, a new day of love, joy and reconciliation dawns. Brimming with wit and wisdom, Shakespeare’s most popular play will enchant you.

Ride the Cyclone

Music, Lyrics, and Book by Jacob Richmond and Brooke Maxwell
Download Program (PDF)
April 17-18 and 22-25, at 7:30pm
April 19 and 26, at 2pm
Robert E.
