Download the TransLoc app<\/a> to request an on-demand ride. Rides must be booked through the TransLoc app.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

This service is available from <\/span>Monday – Friday 5:30 p.m. – 1 a.m., Saturday & Sunday 6 p.m. – 1 a.m. <\/b>on the URI Kingston Campus, Emporium and to\/from the Kingston Train Station. All <\/b>rides must be booked through the app by 12:45am.<\/strong><\/span> <\/p>\n

Rhody On-Demand uses a smartphone app for riders to schedule customized curb-to-curb trips. A small environmentally-friendly shuttle bus will pick up riders and<\/span> drop them off wherever they wish to travel within the service boundaries. Along the way, the shuttle may pick up other passengers who also request a ride. <\/span><\/p>\n

How it Works<\/strong><\/p>\n

The program will be implemented in partnership with our campus shuttle provider Transdev and TransLoc.  Download our mobile app to request a ride!<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Download TransLoc from the app store     <\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Select the \u201cSettings\u201d tab<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Tap \u201cLogin\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Tap \u201cLogin with University Account\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Scroll to University of Rhode Island<\/span><\/li>\n
  6. Enter your URI SOS credentials <\/span><\/li>\n
  7. Follow the prompts to set up a username<\/span><\/li>\n
  8. Select the \u201cOnDemand\u201d option on the lower menu bar<\/span><\/li>\n
  9. Scroll left or right to find the University of Rhode Island, then request your ride!<\/span> <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    No Show Policy<\/strong><\/p>\n

    To reduce wait times, users who ‘No Show’ a requested ride may be suspended from future usage of the URI OnDemand service. The Spring 2024 semester saw a large uptick in No Show’s which adversely impacts all users of the system. <\/p>\n

    After Hours<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Safety and security are our primary concerns at the URI Department of Public Safety.  After hours, SafeRide\/ SafeWalk will be provided by URI Police Officers or URI Security. Community members utilizing this service may be escorted by foot or in a vehicle. If you need a Safe Ride outside of the Rhody On-Demand hours, please contact: 401.874.SAFE.<\/span><\/p>\n
