University Events plans and executes premier presidential and distinguished, university-wide protocol events that best promote the University’s mission and initiatives. Our team of creative, strategic, and dedicated event coordinators is available to provide varying levels of service to the campus community from producing entire events to consultation advice.

Event Planning
University Events plans presidential events and award programs while establishing and administering university protocols. Commencement Weekend and the Lifetime Service Society Ceremony are some of our annual events. Other events include groundbreakings, Presidential house events, distinguished visitors and speakers, building dedications, formal announcements, anniversaries, and protocol celebrations.
Event Management
While upholding the University’s mission, University Events partners with our internal and external clients to assist in the implementation of their event goals and objectives. As professional liaisons, incorporating institutional knowledge and protocol, we coordinate communication, marketing, and logistical services. Sample events include the Distinguished Visiting Scholar Program, Distinguished Visiting International Artist Program and the URI Board of Trustee meetings.
Consultation Services
As consultants, our team will help define your event’s objectives and goals by incorporating the University’s key priorities and protocols into your planning. Specializing in seamless event execution, University Events has the tools and resources to make your event successful. Our experienced team can offer advice with your event in many different areas including marketing strategies, budget management, and logistical guidance.
PLEASE NOTE: If you need to request approval through Public Safety to host an event, following COVID-19 safety requirements, a separate form needs to be submitted.
