A 1973 graduate in\u00a0bioengineering\u00a0from the\u00a0University of California, San Diego\u00a0(UCSD),\u00a0Maurizio Seracini\u00a0<\/strong>is a\u00a0diagnostician\u00a0of\u00a0Italian art. In 1977, he founded the first company in Italy for diagnostic and non-destructive analyses on\u00a0art\u00a0and architecture, the Editech srl, Diagnostic Center for Cultural Heritage in\u00a0Florence.\u00a0Adapting technologies from the medical and military fields and other technical measuring instruments he has made possible diagnostics of art and search for art without destroying the artwork itself.<\/span><\/p>\n

Seracini has been well known for his search for the\u00a0Leonardo da Vinci\u00a0mural,\u00a0The Battle of Anghiari<\/em>\u00a0in the\u00a0Salone dei Cinquecento,\u00a0Palazzo Vecchio,\u00a0Florence\u00a0and for his diagnostic survey on Leonardo’s\u00a0Adoration of the Magi<\/em>.\u00a0 In 2013, Seracini established\u00a0Great Masters Art Authentication\u00a0in\u00a0San Diego, California, the first U.S. company dedicated to true scientific authentication of\u00a0Old Masters\u00a0art from the 14th to 19th Century.<\/p>\n
