“The Women’s Center mission of embracing feminism with all those who are as enthusiastic as we are, is an exciting part of the work I do here.”

Racine helps the Women’s Center encourage the word “feminism” to be freely uttered from the mouths of babes to grandparents at dinner tables nationwide to encourage dialogue on the continual plight of gender inequity. Racine spent 5 years working at various institutions around the nation and  in partnership with the U.S. Department of Justice in their mission to create victim-centered programs for victims of gender based violence on campuses. A single mother of one, avid pet lover and connoisseur of gummy bears, Racine can be found in the Women’s Center developing magnetic, innovative programs, providing advocacy or engaged in dialogue on the status of women and/or the experiences of other traditionally marginalized populations.

“Sometimes, I feel discriminated against, but it does not make me angry. It merely astonishes me.

How can any deny themselves the pleasure of my company? It’s beyond me.”
Zora Neale Hurston
