On April 7th, Xintong (Cynthia) Guan presented Retail Coupons and Dietary Quality of Purchases at Tufts University’s “Future of Food and Nutrition” Conference. The study, performed in collaboration with Stephen Atlas, PhD. and Maya Vadiveloo, PhD. RD., examined the relationship between exposure to coupons and consumer behavior surrounding sugar sweetened beverages (SSB), and non-SSB. “The purpose of the research was to examine how coupons influence the purchase of both healthier and less healthy foods over a 2-year period.
