In May 2017, undergraduate research assistant Vicky Ferraro was awarded the Undergraduate Student Research and Scholarship Excellence Award, for her work conducted alongside Dr. Stephen Atlas and in affiliation with MAPLab. This award recognizes one undergraduate student annually under the category of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities. Each year, select undergraduates, graduates, and faculty at the University of Rhode Island are recognized by the URI Division of Research and Economic Development for their engagement in the process of planning, researching, and producing scholarly or creative work.
