Earth Camp Ages 9-13

earthcampChoose from a variety of exciting activities each day to create your own ultimate camp experience.  Eain a field group of about six to twelve campers one field teacher and one junior counselor who will remain your group leaders throughout the week. This group will provide opportunities to check-in, play games, go swimming, explore, and do special activities.  Most other times you will be engaged in exciting activities of your choice.

Check in for Earth Camp is Sunday from 2:00-3:00. You’ll move into cabin, meet your cabin mates and cabin counselors, then have dinner and an opening campfire.

During the rest of your week, select from a variety of exciting activities highlighting outdoor skills and the natural environment. Learn to sail, kayak or canoe.  Pull on boots and go on a swamp tromp.  Hike down a stream, climb to the top of a tree or go on an epic adventure hike.  Learn archery, fire building and cooking skills.

Choose carefully since you won’t be able to do everything in one week.  Maybe you’ll want to tag along with your favorite counselor for animal tracking, try tree climbing, or perhaps you’ll want to go on a swamp tromp with a new friend you made.  You will make your own schedule based on your own interests. Some activities may be offered twice, while other activities will be offered once during the week.  Because there is so much to do and so little time you will want to choose your activities wisely since time won’t allow you to do everything that’s offered.

Activity options may include swamp tromp, tree climbing, stream hike, animal tracking, ponding, canoeing, kayaking, wilderness skills, compass course, arts and crafts, insecting, an epic adventure hike, and even cooking from the garden!

Each Sunday and Thursday evenings include special all-camp opening and closing campfires. On Friday, you’ll participate in some closing activities and prepare for family program. Family program begins at 2:00 on Friday and is followed by checkout.

Whatever adventure you choose, you’ll still get the all-camp favorites that make Earth Camp special: camp evening programs, meals in the dining hall, recreation time after meals, swimming, campfires, friendships, and lots of fun.
