Giving to CELS

The College of the Environment and Life Sciences proudly prepares our students for careers that improve the quality of life for Rhode Islanders and the global community.  We not only provide our students with an education, but with research and real world experience upon graduation.  We lead in the areas of environmental and life sciences, environmental economics and management, policy and design.  We dedicate ourselves to helping our community and maximizing student opportunities for success.

A gift to CELS is an investment in the future.

Ways to give

There are many ways to give to CELS. Thank you for considering our college!

Gift Planning

Your gift is the key to providing educational opportunities for talented students, regardless of their means. We invite you to let us help you create a thoughtful and creative gift planning strategy that will not only provide support to the University of Rhode Island, but will suit your financial objectives as well.

Fund for URI

The Fund for URI is the University’s annual giving program, which provides much needed, flexible and immediate operating support across all of URI’s colleges and programs. Fund for URI dollars may be used to provide financial aid awards or to support summer internship stipends, faculty development, special programming and a variety of other priorities.

A Memorial Scholarship

In 2001, the Aukerman family, in partnership with the Salt Ponds Coalition, started what is now named the Salt Pond Coalition, Abby Aukerman & Steven Carr Scholarship Fund. This scholarship, established in memory of Abby Aukerman ’98 BA Biology (1975-2000), provides scholarships to two students planning careers in environmental management.
