Writing Across URI is pleased to announce that Eli Review will now be provided for all URI students at no cost to them. If you would like to see better student writing, consider joining several faculty on campus who are already using Eli Review, an online peer review platform dedicated to peer learning and designed to facilitate reviews among small groups of writers. The instructor creates the writing task and the prompts for the review task; you can also assign a revision task. Students learn from each other about where their drafts need work or don’t yet meet the criteria. Eli Review works best with shorter chunks of writing, so that writers receive feedback early in the process of drafting and revising.

With Eli Review, teachers can help students give and get better feedback and coach them in effective revising skills, the two skills that research has proven to be the most effective for learning.
