Six vital actions, typically conducted before a search is launched, are critical for setting the stage for a successful search:

  1. Composing the search committee
  2. Defining the search committee’s charge
  3. Defining and writing the position description
  4. Determining selection criteria
  5. Language for advertising & position descriptions
