Biography

Marissa joined the Office of Student-Athlete Support Services in 2021 as the unit’s first assistant director. In this role, Marissa leads and oversees all aspects of SASS and serves on the leadership teams for URI’s Athletic Department and the Fannon Institute for Student Success. A 1993 graduate of Boston College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history, Marissa later returned to BC to earn her Master’s Degree in Education. A former college basketball student-athelete, Marissa also played professionally in the U.K. for the Rhonnda Rebels and has fond memories of playing basketball overseas. Marissa has worked in the fields of student-athlete development and academic success for her entire career and currently resides in Cumberland, RI.
