Biography

I am a first-generation college student.

I am originally from Texas and moved to Massachusetts in 2023 with my fiancĂ©. Before joining URI, I worked in several positions for Texas A&M University (TAMU). I was an academic advisor for TAMU’s business school, where I advised freshmen and sophomore students before they moved into their upper-level majors. After being an academic advisor, I served as a program coordinator in TAMU’s Office for Student Success. While in this role, I taught a few sections of a first-year experience course. Through teaching, supporting STEM students became my main focus as STEM students comprised most of my class roster. Through their first semester, they explored upper-level majors and allowed me to broaden my knowledge of STEM careers.

When I’m not working, you can find me reading (I read 60 books in 2024), exploring Massachusetts/Rhode Island, Facetiming my nieces, and crafting. I was recently gifted a sewing machine, so I’m currently learning to sew!
