Building a Professional Portfolio with GitHub

Friday, June 5 – 1:00 – 2:30

In this workshop, we’ll explore ways to use the popular code-sharing platform GitHub to showcase samples of your academic or professional work. The focus will be on how to use GitHub features to effectively organize and document a project for maximum impact on recruiters, hiring managers, and potential collaborators. We will also provide a high level introduction to git version control principles upon which GitHub is built. A more comprehensive introduction to git will be offered in the upcoming weeks.

No prior experience with git or GitHub is required, but attendees are expected to have a completed (or be working on) a research project that includes both code and data.

This free workshop will take place online.
