This summer, members of ATL, along with a core group of URI AI faculty experts, will facilitate a 4-week AI-focused curriculum that will bring together a select group of URI faculty, who will learn about and infuse ideas about how best to use generative artificial intelligence in their courses.
During our summer institute we will take a deep dive into AI and its integration into teaching and learning, emerging on the other side with more informed perspectives, tools, and approaches. Participants in our institute will identify an area of their course where they would like to more thoughtfully integrate AI and will also make preparations to share their work with instructors during a Fall Symposium. Participants will also engage in a 4-week workshop (3 weeks hybrid-remote, 1 week asynchronous) where they will identify and (re)design a course element which is AI-connected. Then, in the fall semester, participants will present findings to the result of their work to colleagues during a showcase-style event.
