Supporting Undergraduate Assessment Practices at URI
Purpose:
The purpose of this grant program is to provide funding to instructors (including part-time and full-time instructors), academic departments, colleges, co-curricular and non-academic departments to implement projects within or across programs rooted in strengthening assessment practices, professional development, and the purchasing of equipment that directly supports undergraduate student learning at URI.
Funding will be provided to support three focus areas:
- Projects that support undergraduate student learning and assessment in in-person and online courses or programs.
- Instructor professional development in the areas of assessment and/or SoTL.
- The purchase of equipment (e.g., software, hardware, books, etc.) that directly supports the implementation of assessment practices and/or the growth of SoTL among URI instructors.
Funding is available at three different levels:
- Level 1: $1,000
- Level 2: $2,500
- Level 3: $5,000
Preference will be given to cross-program/cross-departmental teams in applications seeking level 2 and level 3 funding.
Unfortunately, funding cannot be used to supplement wages or pay students for research assistance.
