Instructor Appreciation Luncheon 2026

On April 16, 2026, the Office for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning (ATL) hosted its 3rd annual Instructor Appreciation Luncheon in the URI Memorial Union Ballroom. The event brought together more than 130 instructors from across the university campus to celebrate their dedication to teaching excellence and student success. Each attendee received a token of appreciation recognizing their ongoing commitment to the University and to high-quality instruction. The luncheon provided an opportunity for faculty to connect with colleagues and reflect on the impact of their work in a welcoming and celebratory setting.

Vice Provost for Academic and Faculty Initiatives Sue Adams and Associate Vice Provost for the Office for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning Chris Lavan shared remarks expressing gratitude, encouragement, and support for the faculty community during the catered meal.

The event also honored ATL faculty leaders for the 2025–2026 academic year, as well as instructors who earned CIRTL badges and those who completed the New Faculty Teaching Pathway certificate program. Together, these recognitions highlighted the University’s continued commitment to inclusive, innovative, and evidence-based teaching practices.
