Biography

Kayon Murray-Johnson is an Assistant Professor in the School of Education (Adult Education). With over 15 years of training and experiences combined in facilitating adult learners and in instructional design, Dr. Murray-Johnson has designed dozens of workshops, seminars and one on one coaching sessions for instructors in varied post secondary contexts. Complementing her work in adult learning, development and education, her scholarship also explores effective approaches to navigating difficult dialogues on race and ethnicity that promote positive teaching and learning experiences in higher education. Since coming to URI, she has facilitated a significant number of sessions concerning how to make classroom conversations, course design and teaching strategies more inclusive, and she remains passionate about exploring creative teaching and learning strategies with faculty.
