Academic life can be overwhelming. Could slowing down help us better connect with our professional purpose? Join us for a 5-session book discussion on the 10th Anniversary Edition of The Slow Professor: Challenging the Culture of Speed in the Academy (Berg & Seeber, 2025). In this book, the authors explore how embracing principles of the “slow” movement can create a more reflective, balanced, and meaningful academic environment by alleviating stress and improving collegiality. This new edition includes 16 stories from faculty and academic professionals about how they engage in slow practices. Connect with fellow instructors and share ideas for slowing down in a fast-paced academic world. Repeat book club participants are welcome!
