Biography
With more than 30 years of experience in the field of education, Kim brings both academic and administrative perspectives to the University of Rhode Island. Throughout her distinguished career, Kim has developed a clear vision of the science of teaching and the practices that foster excellent instruction and student‑centered learning. Her expertise is complemented by a strong background in educational leadership, particularly in curriculum and instruction, assessment, and accreditation.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, coordination, and implementation of URI’s initiatives to assess student learning outcomes.
- Partner with college leaders, academic departments, and individual faculty to support their teaching and learning assessment plans for both in-person and online
courses. - Support the Office of the Provost to successfully complete the NECHE (New
England Commission on Higher Education) accreditation planning, writing, and submissions. - Serve as a member of the URI Faculty Senate’s Joint Committee for Academic Program Review and Outcome Assessment and will support the Academic Program Review process from a teaching and learning perspective.
- Partner with various URI campus offices, centers, and units on behalf of the Office for
the Advancement of Teaching & Learning (ATL) to support the development of assessment plans that produce evidence of measurable student learning.
