New Faculty Teaching Pathway

Becoming acquainted with a new role is an ongoing process. Rather than having a one-day, do-it-all orientation, ATL will walk with you over the course of your first year with just-in-time information to help you be successful. The purpose of the New Faculty Teaching Pathway is to develop durable teaching strategies, relationships, and navigational capital that you can use to be successful throughout your career at URI. Starting a new position is a lot better when you do it with friends. Sign up for this New Faculty Teaching Pathway and start off on the right foot together.

Program Outcomes

  1. Develop relationships in a cohort-based program with other new URI faculty.
  2. Begin a growth-oriented teaching journey with durable teaching skills.
  3. Implement a plan for career progression and long-term teaching success at URI.

Completion Criteria

Earning the certificate for the New Faculty Teaching Pathway is as easy as 1-2-3:

  1. At the end of Summer, participate in Strategies & Tools for New Faculty.
  2. In the Fall, engage in 3 of the 4 sessions.
  3. In the Spring, deepen your teaching practice and campus connections by engaging in two additional pathway activities of your choice.
