The goal of this course is to provide a platform for instructors to learn about pedagogical best practices for facilitating online courses and to reflect on creating a high-quality, engaging learning experience for students. It is ideal for instructors who have been selected to teach a course from a pre-built URI Online master shell or any other online course that has already been designed. This course does not teach design principles.
Participants will learn a selection of online teaching principles and best practices: they will develop a plan for teaching their online course that includes initial preparation and personalization, facilitating student communications engagement, and supporting learning through effective and timely feedback.
While this course is designed to be 3-weeks long and asynchronous, you may complete it at your own pace. It can be completed in a weekend if need be!
